Rumi Hara is a cartoonist and illustrator born in Kyoto in 1982.
She grew up in Osaka and Atlanta among other places and lived and worked in New York City until recently. She is an Associate Professor of Comic Arts in the Places, Arts, and Concsiousness program at the School of Science and Technology, Meiji University, and currently divides her time between Tokyo and a lovely island in Onomichi, working on a series of comiku (haiku comics) and other new stories.
Rumi is the author of the award-winning books Nori and The Peanutbutter Sisters and Other American Stories (Drawn & Quarterly).

大阪やアトランタで幼少期を過ごし、ニューヨークで活動後、2023年に尾道に移住。現在は東京と尾道を行き来しながら俳句コミック略して「コミ句」を含む新作の制作に取り組んでいる。著書に Nori、The Peanutbutter Sisters and Other American Stories(共にDrawn & Quarterly 社)がある。
